  9 weeks!!!

Ok... so just reached 9 weeks today. I took this pic just last nite. For some reason my little "blump" always gets bigger at night. Jay says I'm pushing my stomach out, but I swear to you I'm not. Anyway, I wonder why that is???

I texted my mom this picture earlier today showing her my new bump... and long story short  ( and may I mention that AGAIN she wasn't wearing her glasses) she texted me back and said that she didnt see that I had a stomach at all. Come to find out just now she thought all along my "bump" was my butt. Really? I told her from now on she really needs to wear her glasses PERMANENTLY!!!! WTH?

ON ANOTHER NOTE... I am really thankful that my friend Crystal has been so generous to give me ALL her maternity clothes. I think so far I've gotten a total of 5 garbage bags! LOL! They will certainly come in handy. No sense in buying all new things when we can just share!  I'll be a busy girl the next few weekends cleaning out my closet to get rid of the old and make room for the new. I just wish I had more energy.

I had yet another doctors appointment yesterday with my "NEW" OBGYN that will be delivering the baby.  Overall it was a pretty boring appointment since I had already had my first ultrasound at my old doctors office... but we will be having another ultrasound on the 15th (next week) with bloodwork to test for the first part of the downs syndrome screening. Then I will go again on the 30th for the second part of the bloodwork / screening.  Excited to see little bean again. Apparently my friends that have recently had babies have told me that for the first time the baby will really look like a tiny little baby with arms and legs, etc.. And it may even be moving and doing flips and things. So COOL!

8 week update

  8 weeks!!!

Well this past weekend felt like a complete whirlwind for me. My visit home to see my parents and spend time with my mom went really well. My mom is doing well after her latest surgery and recovering nicely. It was nice to be home and I was able to relax a bit so that is good.  My parents were thrilled to hear about our baby news. My mom especially.  I had it all planned out to give her this pandora charm picture below of the cutest baby carriage.
When it came time for her to open it I realized she didnt have her glasses on... and before I knew it the next thing out of her mouth was.... "Oh is it a turtle?" Um....."No Mom put on your glasses". When she finally gets her glasses on she realizes what it is and yells.. "A BABY CARRIAGE.... OH MY GOSH ARE YOU PREGNANT?"  She proceeded to yell and carry on and called just about everyone that she could think of to tell them that she was gonna be a grandma!!! So cute!

On another note, my morning sickness / nausea has somewhat subsided ( for now anyway ) and I'm thankful to be feeling a little better.  I'm also glad to say that I've gotten just a little bit of my energy back (which I'll be needing for sure for the next several days). We will have Jays Dad and Jeannette with us as house guests for Morgans wedding this weekend and I have a ton of housework to do! AHHH! I should be cleaning now but I feel if I really work hard tomorrow night that I should be in good shape??!! If not. oh well I say. This house might just be a little dirty. And... if all else fails,  I can always throw everything in the closet for now just to get it hidden.

Last week was our first ultra sound. The tech got a really neat picture of the yolk-sac, umbilical cord, and baby.. She said that it was rare to be able to see all that.   I asked her why she thought she was able to see it on me and she said that "I had the perfect shape" ...( I'm guessing regarding  my uterus... and maybe the positioning )and that she described it as some would  "A PERFECT STORM". Ok.??? Idk..  I'll take it, but here it is.
The second pic is of the baby's heartbeat. On our first ultrasound there was a heartbeat of 147.  I just happened to have another ultrasound yesterday ( had a very mild case of spotting). Went to the doc and after a quick internal exam and ultrasound they were able to confirm that everything was still perfect with the baby.  Couldn't really find an obvious reason regarding why I was bleeding,  but they assured me that apparently sometimes women will have occasional spotting throughout their pregnancies and it's usual perfectly nornal and not to panic.   It was a very scary thing though and I'm glad I went to the doc for some peace of mind.  But back to the heartbeat -  just in a matter of about 5 days the heartbeat went from 147 to 164 so everything looks to be progressing as it should!!

And here it is looking like a little bean - but you can see little flippers developing for the hands and feet!

oh and did I mentioned that I'm already feeling like a huge freakin whale? I feel so bloated and disgusting.  Each day my clothes just seem to be getting tighter and tighter.  :(( Wah... I guess I just better get used to it!
